Cancer Gets LOST is honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to host an onsite silent auction at LOST 2017! Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees at LOST 2014 that bid on and won items in our auction, CGL raised and donated just over $11,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year we will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the Cancer Gets LOST auction at LOST 2017 to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in honor of my mother-in-law, who is bravely battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Everyone attending LOST 2017 is eligible to participate in the CGL silent charity auction, which is taking place on Sunday (October 8) from 4pm – 6pm in Dharmaville, an active YMCA camp where they filmed scenes in the Others’ village on LOST!
Auction Items & Process
From authentic LOST screen-used props to t-shirts, trading cards, fan art and photos – Cancer Gets LOST has a treasure trove of limited edition and signed items exclusively available to LOST 2017 attendees participating in our silent auction! In addition, our auction will feature a few items donated by Damon Lindelof himself, as well as amazing fan-created props and more. We are very aware of the costs involved with making this trip to Hawaii, so rest assured that our auction will include many smaller items and affordable options! All CGL auction items will be small enough to fit in carry-on luggage, FYI.
Bidding on items in our silent auction will fun and easy! There will be clipboards with bidding pages in front of all items, including relevant details like who donated them, opening bid prices and bid increments ($1 or $5, etc.). Bidding wars are always exciting, but we only ask that you please respect the physical space of others at the auction tables, for the duration and particularly during the last minute of the auction.
If you’re interested in participating in our LOST 2017 charity auction, all you really need is a PayPal account, which I strongly recommend that you sign up for in advance! You will also have the option of paying for items with a credit card, via PayPal. IF you win an item in our auction, you will be asked to visit the Cancer Gets LOST website immediately (which you should bookmark on your phone in advance to save time!), to click on the “Donate” button at the top of the page. A new window will open:

Purpose: Cancer Gets LOST
You are responsible for inputting the EXACT amount owed for your total auction item win(s). Click “Log In” if you have a PayPal account, or enter your credit card information if you do not. Once you have paid for your items, you will receive a PayPal receipt via email. Just show your email receipt to Jo or a CGL Volunteer, and walk away with your auction items on the spot! No shipping or auction fees. We appreciate your patience in advance during the auction closing process, which may take up to a half hour; there will be almost 100 attendees participating and only a few of us working the auction tables!
[FYI: Cancer Gets LOST has non-profit, tax exempt status thanks to a fiscal sponsorship by FJC: A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. You will see their name on our PayPal account, as they oversee it for us. Anyone that makes an auction item payment of $250 or more to Cancer Gets LOST will receive a tax receipt from FJC.]
We are very excited to unveil exclusive items for you at LOST 2017 in the CGL silent auction, and appreciate your support of our charitable endeavors!
